T he lab is outfitted with a v a r i e t y o f R & D a n d p r o d u c - t ion-s c ale t ablet manu f ac t u r ing equipment and offers a range of t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g a n d c u s t o m - research services. The facility also features a dedi- cated classroom space, allowing Natoli to offer additional industry training opportunities. The compa- ny 's ex tensive ind u st r y t raining program also includes the Natoli Instit ute of Indust r ial Phar mac y Research and Development at Long Island University, regular training c o u r s e s a t t h e c o m p a n y 's S t . Charles headquarters, and Tablet Compression Resource centers in Holbrook, NY; Cypress, CA; and Pilchowo, Poland. Full-service R&D lab Ser vices offered at the Telford facility include: • Formulation evaluation, modi- fication, and testing to reduce tableting challenges • Contract development • API characterization • Compaction simulation • Formulation and process development • Tool steel, material, and coat- ing recommendations • Tablet sticking and picking resolutions • Scalability solutions • Technical training courses • Tablet press instrumentation, calibration, and maintenance services According to Rober t Sedlock, Natoli's director of technical train- ing and development, the lab allows the company to support customers experiencing tableting challenges at any stage in production, from for- mulation development to scale-up and manufacturing. "Natoli Engi- neering is known as a leading pro- vider of tablet compression tools and tablet presses, but our technical team is also experienced with the complete tableting process," Sed- lock says. " T he Telford site pro- vides our customers with a full sol- id-dosage laborator y including a compaction simulator, instrumented single-st at ion and r ot ar y t ablet presses, dr y and wet g ranulation s ystems, and tablet coating and powder characterization equipment. "We offer support through class- room and hands-on training as well as on a contractual basis. We also provide calibration and maintenance se r v ice s for all ind u st r y t ablet presses and support for new Natoli R&D products such as the NP-RD30 development/scale-up tablet press and AIM data-acquisition software."
