Riverview Park All Ages RANGER SPEAKS SERIES During the month of August, join a Carson City Park Ranger to learn about a variety of nature topics. Events will be the first four Saturdays in August. All lectures are free. Silver Saddle Ranch is located at 2648 Carson River Rd. Silver Saddle Ranch All Ages INTRO TO LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY Learn how to take breathtaking landscape photos without using the automa c se ng on your camera. This 4 week series class will focus on ISO, aperture, shu er speed, and composi on in rela on to landscapes. If you don't know what those mean, this is the perfect class for you. The class will conclude with a half-day photography excursion (transporta on included) to prac ce everything you learned. Be prepared for minimal homework assignments. You must bring your own DSLR camera. Space is limited. Community Center Bonanza Room 14yrs+ DROP-IN POOL KAYAKING Ever wanted to learn how to kayak, or want keep up your skills during the off-season? The Carson Aqua c Facility is opening its doors to kayakers. This is a drop-in program and no instruc on is provided. Carson Aqua c Facility All Ages HOPE VALLEY ASTRO-PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP This is a one-night workshop designed to enjoy the even- ing, look at the stars, and learn how to shoot astro- photography (the Milky Way). The workshop will start by viewing the sunset and figuring out your composi on while there is s ll some light out. Then we'll wait for it to get dark enough to shoot the Milky Way. Bring a DSLR camera, a tripod, and snacks. Not all cameras are created equal. In order to get the best possible shot, lenses that are wide-angle and have a wider aperture se ng work best. Transporta on provided. Community Center-East Parking Lot 18yrs+ SUMMER CYCLING SERIES Join CCPR as we explore various biking trails throughout the region. These are not mountain biking trails, but rather rela vely mild grade trails that are either paved, dirt, or gravel. A mountain bike or hybrid bike will work best. Each trail will take par cipants through forests, and along rivers or lakes. The Tahoe Shoreline Trail will end at Squaw Olym- pic Village where par cipants will have the op on to grab lunch at the Village. Bikes are available to rent through CCPR. Ages 14-17 are permi ed with a par cipa ng adult. Transporta on is provided from the Community Center. Par cipants should know how to ride a bike and be able to bike several miles.
