48 CM 20th | Partnerships Here at Capitol Ministries we will not lose heart. We are called to find open doors and walk through them, and where we find one closed door aer another, we are called to begin knocking on those doors, one by one. For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond- servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. 2Corinthians 4:5-6 We take stock in the fruit that the Lord has granted this ministry over the past 20 years. What is so amazingly encouraging to us is that the vast majority of the seeds we have sown have grown. Here is a small sampling of that fruit: Knowing no one in the New York State Legislature, Dale Walker began knocking on doors and in less than two years led 14 people — 13 of them Legislators — to Christ. What events might have transpired if Junior Zapata in Guatemala had not shared God's distinction between vengeance and justice with the leaders of his nation who were grieved by how the people had suffered under previous administrations and were 'out for blood?' How spiritually dark would be the state capital that was named aer the providence of God if Merrill omas and Rhode Island Senator Harold Metts were not giving the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the State House? How many minds provided fertile ground for the foundational seeds that were laid by U.S. Representative Steve Pearce when he, as the first U.S. Statesman ever to address the Parliament of formerly Communist Belarus, talked about the biblical foundation of our nation and advised those new leaders to follow that example by choosing principle over power in their governance? Where would the Utah lobbyist be had she not sought the counsel of Carl Wimmer who shared the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ with her, leading her to a decision which assured where she will spend eternity? Indeed, the fruit is abundant. In light of God's past faithfulness in blessing the work of Capitol Ministries, we look ahead in anticipation of great fruit in the new ministries of Bryan Suzui in Hawaii; Dr. Sylvester Malachi Rogers in Sierra Leone, Africa; Brian Hanson in Ohio; Oleg Rachkovski in Belarus; Mike Beresford in Wisconsin; Chris DiGiacomo in Massachusetts; and the many, many others who believe in the mission of Capitol Ministries and despite the obstacles in front of them, continue to persevere. What will the Lord do in and through these men of God? What will He accomplish with these new ministries? We invite you to join with us in this mission. Capitol Ministries has an urgent goal to forge new strategic partnerships and collaborations with foundations and or- ganizations that share our global vision to take the Gospel to the political leaders of the world. We are aggressive about our expansion because our days our limited and there is great urgency, both in terms of the call to be saved and the mission to reach the world. ere are abundant opportunities and ways for partnerships and collaborations with us. Among them: • CivicReach® We partner with local churches to find Minis- try Leaders to take the Word of God into the city halls and county governments of America. • Oaks in Office: Biblical Essays for Political Leaders is book, which is scheduled for publication in early 2017, provides the foundational work to equip CivicReach® Ministry Leaders to make disciples in local government. ese 52 biblical essays give a biblical perspective of the political, spiritual, and personal issues that Public Servants face. We desire to ground local leaders in the Word of God to aid them in their careers and prepare their characters, hearts, and minds for higher office. • 50 in 50: Additional State Ministries Every state desperately needs a discipleship Bible study where Representatives, Sena- tors, and Constitutional Officers of all po- litical parties worship together. Our goal for 2017 is to plant ministries in the State Capitols of Alabama, Alaska, Connecti- cut, Iowa, New Jersey, North Dakota and South Dakota. • Affinity Sphere Directors To expand the ministry to foreign nations, we must recruit, train, and develop Directors for the world's 10 Affinity Spheres. ese men are tasked with finding suitable Ministry Lead- er candidates to expand the ministry in their sphere of the world. In addition to the 24 ministries we have planted, we are striving to establish and develop 200 ministries in 200 foreign federal Capitols around the world, Lord willing, in the decades ahead. • White House Ministries Capitol Ministries is working with national leaders to expand our Washington, D.C. ministry. Our objective is to plant discipleship Bible studies in the White House to reach those in our nation's executive branch of government. Please join us. Your partnership in any or all of these initiatives will help us transform the world. HE NEED IS GREAT AND OUR TIME IS LIMITED. Sometimes it seems as if our work to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the leaders of our world is like trying to empty the ocean with a teaspoon. But we are not called to question odds and probabilities, but to obedience. We are called to persevere. erefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart . . . 2Corinthians 4:1 T New Partnerships & Collaborations . . . with the hope that as your faith grows, we will be, within our sphere, enlarged even more by you, so as to preach the gospel even to the regions beyond you . . . 2 C o r i n t h i a n s 1 0 : 1 5 - 1 6
