British Open confirmed Spieth's historical greatness, as he joined Nicklaus as the only players to win three major championships ahead of their 24th bir thday. Spieth's surge also continued to reshape how we think about the post-Tiger era. It was sup- posed to belong to Rory McIlroy, who by 2014 had won four majors at the age of 25.
