A nationwide search is underway for a new gener- al manager. Down the road, some modifications may be made to make Pasadera more user-friendly. The current price for a full golf membership is $20,000, with various categories and options available. Other types of membership can be had for even less. If Pasadera can be the oasis its new owners envision, their investments may one day feel like a bargain. "We have a lot of things we need to deliver to the members," says Laver. "This is just the beginning. But I can tell you the feeling around here has already totally changed. Everybody is excited about what's happening and can't wait to see what's next. We really hope the local com- munity will come out and see for themselves what Pasadera is all about, once again." The beautiful land where Pasadera sits was settled by Spanish missionaries from Mexico in the late 1700s.
