elma roane fieldhouse The Elma Roane Fieldhouse is a home court where the Tigers enjoyed a 12-2 record in 2009-2010, including three straight wins en route the Women’s Basketball Invitational (WBI) championship game. The taste of March play flashed Tigers fans back to the days of Tamika Whitmore, an eventual WNBA All-Star, and the early Tiger squads of the 80s that made some of Memphis’ first NCAA tournament appearances. INFO MORE Named for Elma Neale Roane, who was the first athletics director for women’s sports, the Fieldhouse also has behind-the-scenes support areas, including a weight room, a strength and conditioning center and a locker room facility that is undergoing a one million dollar renovation heading in to the 2010-2011 season. The building, located in the heart of the University of Memphis main campus, provides everything the Tigers need to prepare for their on- the-court successes.
