Sparked by 28 second half points, including an 11-for-13 stroke from the free-throw line, Carter would end the night with a school and Conference USA single game record of 49 points by the end of the Tigers’ 98-83 win over Sacramento State. Carter’s mark broke both the Memphis men’s and women’s single game scoring mark. That was also a tournament record, a women’s scoring record at Bank of America and tied the overall single game scoring record in the University of Washington’s home court, a mark she now shares with Bob Houbregs, a former Washington player whose retired No. 25, the same number Carter wears, hangs in the Bank of America Arena rafters.
