Memphis hosted three rounds in the Elma Roane Fieldhouse, winning the three contests by an average 16.3 points. The Tigers then had to go on the road for the Championship game as the lower seed of the two teams in the championship. Host Appalachian State turned up the pressure on the Tigers in Boone, N.C., coming back to down Memphis 79-71 in the championship game.
