2009 c-usa champions < The 2009 University of Memphis women’s soccer team entered the season looking to become the first Conference USA team to three-peat as C-USA champions. Entering the C-USA Tournament as the three seed, the Lady Tigers faced an uphill climb of three games to an unprecedented third-straight championship. Memphis answered the call in game one of the 2009 C-USA Tournament, claiming a 6-2 victory over host SMU. Taylor Isenhower posted two goals to lead Memphis to the victory. Lizzy Hildebrandt converted a game-winner in the 15th-minute and Elise Kuhar-Pitters made seven saves to post her 11th shutout of the 2009 season. In the finals, Memphis faced UCF. The Lady Tigers were aggressors from opening kick and claimed a 3-0 victory over the Knights to claim their third-straight C-USA Championship. Lizzy Simonin, Averi Hallman and Vendula Strnadova each tallied goals for Memphis to give the Lady Tigers an automatic berth into the NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship.Isenhower was named C-USA Tournament Offensive MVP and Hildebrandt and Tori Dalton joined her on the All-Tournament Team. Kuhar-Pitters earned C-USA Tournament Defensive MVP honors after collecting shutouts in the semi-finals and finals.
