Causes Come Fir st for Local Public Relations Firm B Y R E N E E B R I N C K S M arci Bracco Cain of Chatterbox PR spends her days initiating publicity, social media and marketing campaigns for an array of businesses: hotels, restaurants, wineries, medical clinics and law firms, to name just a few. Her client list also includes several nonprofits making a difference throughout the region. Thanks to Bracco Cain's philanthropic program, "The Giving Hour," some of those charities receive free communications and volunteer support. "Giving back doesn't have to be done through financial means. Every person has some sort of skill set. If everyone gave one hour a day, week or month, think how much better that would make the community," says Bracco Cain. Chatterbox PR's five team members each dedicate one daily hour to volunteer efforts, from organizing animal shelter fundraisers to promot- ing free skin cancer screenings to soliciting dona- tions for shelters. In the past seven years, employ- ees have donated more than 5,000 hours of time and assistance to the Food Bank for Monterey County, Peace of Mind Dog Rescue, Animal Friends Rescue Project and others. Bracco Cain extends the impact by encour- aging clients to create in-house charitable pro- grams, as well. "We live in a small community," she says. "I support the idea of supporting those in our own backyard." For more information on Chatterbox PR, please visit chatterboxpublicrelations.com.
