In its history, Memphis track and field
has had six NCAA champions. In
1973, Ed Hammonds was a national
champion in the 100-yard dash. That
same year, Hammonds along with
teammates Lynn Fox, Maurice Knight
and Ed Taylor won the 440-yard relay
national title. Nine years later, Terron
Wright won the national title in the 60yard hurdles.
