For Tigers sprinters and hurdlers, it was
a record-setting and championship year.
Robert Jackson defended his indoor
60m hurdles and outdoor 110m hurdles
conference titles. Jackson and fellow
men���s hurdlers Tyrell Forde and Brandon
Williams qualified for the NCAA East
Outdoor Preliminaries. The women���s squad
saw the emergence of a talented group
of student-athletes, as Maya Williamson,
Kala Funderburk, Monica Mason and
Keyona Neal all qualified for the NCAA
Preliminaries. Williamson and Funderburk
set school records in the 400m hurdles
and 400m dash, respectively. Along with
teammates Monica Mason and Keyona
Neal, Williamson and Funderburk
shattered the school���s 4x400m record in
both indoor and outdoor competition.
Additionally, Williamson and fellow
hurdler Bronte��� Smith qualified for the USA
Junior National Championships.
