SPECIALTY FOOD SPECIALTYFOOD.COM SPECIALTY FOOD MAKER Lakeview Capital Acquires My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream Lakeview Capital, Inc. has acquired The Mochi Ice Cream Co., maker of My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream. Lakeview acquired the company from Century Park Capital Partners. Craig Berger, president and CEO of The Mochi Ice Cream Co., along with the management team, will remain with the company in their current roles under the new ownership. Stonewall Kitchen Buys Village Candle Stonewall Kitchen has acquired Village Candle, a brand of fragranced candles, gifts, and accessories, sold in the U.S. and throughout the world. "We're extremely excited to welcome Village Candle to our growing family of specialty brands," said John Stiker, CEO of Stonewall Kitchen, in a statement. "We have long had our own small lines of candles and fine home keeping products, but this allows us to really expand that offering with an incredible assortment of specialty candles made 'just up the road' here in Maine." Hostess Finalizes Acquisition of Voortman Cookies Hostess Brands Inc. has finalized the acquisition of Voortman Cookies Ltd. from private equity firm Swander Pace Capital. The transaction is valued at approximately $320 million in cash. Byrd's Famous Cookies Purchases Selma's Cookies Byrd's Famous Cookies has purchased Selma's Cookies, expanding its product line to include brownies, crispy rice treats, and large soft-baked cookies. Orlando, Fla.- based Selma's Cookies provides private-label sweets to major theme parks in Florida and California, Las Vegas casinos, grocery chains, department stores, and specialty coffee shops. The company's production facilities, which are located near major theme parks in Orlando and Anaheim, Calif., are included in the sale. Byrd Cookie Company provides bite-sized specialty cookies to retailers, high- end convenience stores, grocery chains, and inflight foodservice companies. It operates 10 retail stores and plans to open new stores in Gatlinburg, Tenn. and Savannah, Ga. in 2020. The company's current production facility, which bakes more than a billion cookies annually, is based in Savannah, Ga., where Byrd has been headquartered since 1924. Molson Coors Acquires Michigan Brewer Molson Coors Beverage Co.'s craft division, Tenth and Blake Beer Co., has acquired Detroit-based Atwater Brewery.
