The SFA's 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award recipients are widely recognized as having grown the industry, improved the Association, inspired companies, and nurtured individuals. 2019 T he SFA's 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award honorees include Benny Curl of Byrd Cookie Company, who is credited with spurring distribution of his spe- cialty cookies from Harrods to Hong Kong and beyond, and Ariane Daguin of D'Artagnan, who grew a multimillion dollar meat and game business by organizing small farmers and promoting conscientiously raised meat. Rounding out the trio of honorees is Bob Moore of Bob's Red Mill, who founded America's whole grain movement. "Many individuals have devoted their lives to bringing the best in food to American consumers," says Phil Kafarakis, president of the Specialty Food Association. "Their vision, insights, and innovation have shaped our industry, creating new product catego- ries and contributing greatly to the success of retail and foodservice.
