and chicken katsu, all on f luffy, crustless white bread. Sandwich prices average around $4 each, and they're among the most popu- lar items. More creative mashups include the dessert "stuffing cake" ($2 per slice) and omelets made with kimbap, which is similar to Japanese sushi rolls. Drinks include Pocari Sweat (a Japanese sports beverage), BOSS Black Coffee (also from Japan), plus Peach Mart's own pear-plum tea and blueberry chimi. Inspired by the colorful vari- ety at Japanese and Korean convenience stores, it's a fun, quirky, kaleidoscope of a store inside the recently opened Shops at Hudson Yards, on Manhattan's far west side at 34th Street. Peach Mart is the newest offering from David Chang's Momofuku. It's tucked next door to Momofuku's more traditional Korean restaurant, Kawi, on the fifth floor. The 200-square-foot market is decked out with a white marble counter and subway tile walls behind it. Above the counter is a menu board listing Peach Mart's riffs on classic sandwiches, such as jalepeƱo-spiked potato salad, peanut butter and black sesame paste, PHOTO: ANDREW BEZEK SUMMER 2019 43 Summer Fancy Food Show Booth #2056
