A highly-touted recruit out of Texas, Lauren Hawkins came in and made an immediate impact on the court for the Tigers. The freshmen started the first seven matches of the season and helped guide Memphis to three preseason tournament titles. She recorded 11 kills against Alabama A&M and Georgia State while helping the Tigers to a win in the Memphis Invitational. Hawkins tallied double- digit kills nine times and finished 17th in Conference USA with a .261 hitting percentage.
