Head coach Josh Pastner is a firm believer in this: "Keep it simple." He follows that motto in his offensive philosophy that the open man is the "go-to" man. Simply put, Pastner wants ball movement, making the extra pass that leads to the best possible shot. In his three seasons, Pastner's teams have bought into his philosophy, as the Tigers have assisted on over half of the made baskets each year. The 2011-12 squad is the perfect example of Pastner's philosophy as it leads C-USA in scoring offense, field goal percentage and assists and is second in three-point field goal percentage. On the defensive end, Pastner mixes in end-to-end, man-to- man pressure with different zones to keep opponents off balance.
