The Tigers are one of the nationĀ“s elite college basketball programs, and that is evidenced by the programĀ“s staying power in the national polls/rankings. From 2005-06 through 2008-09, Memphis was ranked in 64-straight polls which, at the time, tied for the longest streak in the country. During that same period, the Tigers finished each season ranked in the top-10 of both polls. In 2007-08, Memphis ascended to the No. 1 spot in both polls, and stayed here for a school- record five-straight weeks.
