E n s u r i n g a S t r o n g F u t u r e 59 | P a g e Public Communication The Communications objective is to inform and educate our customers and the community on the District's services, rates, customer programs and projects. The goal of our mission is to build awareness, trust and support. Support and trust are important to ensuring the successful implementation of large capital projects as well as smaller projects such as adding new payment options for customers. This is accomplished through many mediums including website messaging, videos, social media, customer bill messages, bill inserts, self-mailers, community meetings and events, emails, and earned-media stories. Communications and Outreach are a goal within Padre Dam's Strategic Plan which helps to guide the District's Five Year Business Plan. The key focus areas for Communications with this Plan will help guide how and what we communicate to our customers and community. As a public agency, the District works for the community it serves. Effective communication about the variety of services, projects and quality we offer provides our community with information needed to help build trust and appreciation of our services. Annual reports, water quality reports and other District reports help communicate overall quality and fiscal responsibility to our customers. We take our communications a step further by providing more in-depth details of projects and services through digital media and technology. As technology continues to evolve our communication efforts will focus on providing education to our customers in a variety of means that will reach our diverse community. Public Communication
