• Enjoy some morning tea for the Port Hedland Visitor Centre's weekly Tales of Hedland event, where a different resident from Hedland shares their story and experiences of the town. • Between the months of October and February, join the Care for Hedland Environmental Association for the Flatback Turtle hatching and nesting season. • During May to September you can spot turtles and dolphins off the coast, or hop in a boat and head out to the open ocean. • Explore nearby Pardoo or Cape Keraudren for a day to reconnect with nature. • Discover native eco-systems on the tidal flats at low tide and join in local reef walks during the winter months. • Port Hedland has some of the most breathtaking sunrises and sunsets – the best spots are Spoilbank Beach, Pretty Pool, Cemetery Beach Park, Civic Centre Gardens, Marapikarrinya Park, Redbank Bridge and the visitor rest stop near the airport. Moon Magic! Staircase to the Moon appears in Port Hedland. The best vantage spot is next to the Discovery Caravan Park (Goode Street) in Port Hedland.
