Wickham Named after J.C. Wickham, the captain of HMS Beagle, who surveyed the North West coast in 1840, Wickham was built to service the Pilbara Iron workers and is home to the massive port facilities. • Check out the 70 tonne haul truck, locomotive and interpretative display of an iron ore carrier at the information bay on Wickham Drive. • Wander along the secluded beaches around Port Walcott (Boat Beach). Snorkel, swim or launch your boat and fish. • Enjoy views of the town and beyond from Water Tank Hill Lookout. • Witness turtle nesting on Wickham's Bells Beach from October to February. • Enjoy a serve of fish and chips at Port Walcott Yacht Club every Sunday (March – November) while taking in the view. Point Samson Pristine beaches, beautiful coral gardens and abundant fish beckon you to Point Samson. The acres of coral grounds off the nearby islands are some of Australia's best, while the beaches offer excellent snorkelling and fishing all year round.
