The 2011-12 version of the Tigers came in with high expectations. The pre-season picks to win Conference USA in a poll of the league's coaches, the Tigers finished second in the regular season with a 13-3 league mark, the most wins for the team in league play since the 1998 squad also went 13-3 in Conference USA. The Tigers were also fortunate enough to have both the pre-season and post-season Player of the Year. Guard Brittany Carter was the pre-season Player of the Year and a second team all-conference honoree, while senior post Jasmine Lee ended up as the post-season Player of the Year and first team all-conference honoree aſter averaging a double-double.
