Memphis would appear in its third consecutive WNIT aſter going 17-12 during the regular season. Aſter winning five straight games to open the season, including an 88-82 win over No. 14 Mississippi State, the Tigers won five of the next 14 games before regrouping to close out the regular season with six straight wins. Memphis then defeated Saint Louis in the opening game of the C-USA tournament, but fell to Houston and were leſt to await a WNIT berth.
