Prerequisites: MAT220, or MAT221, or permission of Department or Division. One year of High School physics or PHY111 and PHY112 suggested but not required. PHY131 / 4 CREDITS / 6 PERIODS PHY 1131 UNIVERSITY PHYSICS II: ELECTRICITY AND MAGNETISM Electric charge and current, electric and magnetic fields in vacuum and in materials, and induction. AC circuits, displacement current, and electromagnetic waves. Prerequisites: MAT230 or MAT231 or permission of Department or Division and PHY121 Corequisites: MAT241 or permission of Department or Division. POS - Political Science POS100 / 3 CREDITS / 3 PERIODS INTRODUCTION TO POLITICAL SCIENCE Introduction to the discipline of political science and its relation to other disciplines with emphasis on the major philosophies and institutions of government. POS110 / 3 CREDITS / 3 PERIODS POS 1110 AMERICAN NATIONAL GOVERNMENT Study of the historical backgrounds, governing principles, and institutions, of the national government of the United States. Evaluation of the political, economic, national, and transnational rationale for international interactions. Prerequisites: None. POS180 / 3 CREDITS / 3 PERIODS UNITED NATIONS STUDIES Historical origins, structural makeup, political and operational characteristics, and legal activities of the United Nations.
