Topics include: how the Internet can help growth and success of business; examples of successful marketing on the Internet; availability of Internet services; necessary hardware and software for marketing on the Internet; determining products/services appropriate for Internet marketing; budget constraints and on-going operations of the Internet site. Prerequisites: None. SBS230 / 2 CREDITS / 2 PERIODS FINANCIAL AND TAX MANAGEMENT FOR SMALL BUSINESS An overview of accounting and record- keeping for the successful management of a small business. Develops an understanding of the accounting cycle and preparation of financial statements. Includes section on tax consequences and the choice of legal entity choice based on taxation. Prerequisites: None. SBU - Society and Business SBU200 / 3 CREDITS / 3 PERIODS SOCIETY AND BUSINESS The study and scientific inquiry of issues and demands placed on business enterprise by owners, customers, government, employees and society. Included are social, ethical and public issues and analysis of the social impact of business responses. Prerequisites: None. SLG - Sign Language SLG101 / 4 CREDITS / 4 PERIODS AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE I Introduction of principles, methods, and techniques for communicating with deaf people who sign. Development of expressive and receptive sign skills, manual alphabet, numbers, and sign vocabulary. Overview of syntax, grammar, and culture related to American Sign Language (A.S.L.).
