Canadian grocer Metro cre-
ated an app for the Apple
Watch that enables shoppers
to manage their grocery lists
from their wrists. Not only a
list maker, the app provides
targeted offers based on pre-
vious purchases.
Since 2009, Metro has
aimed to simplify its cus-
tomers shopping experience
with digital tools, such as its
Just for Me program in which
users receive customized
digital sales fliers. Customer
feedback found that juggling
a smartphone, grocery bags,
and kids was overwhelming,
so the app allows users to
pull up their list on their wrist,
check off items that go in the
cart, and receive alerts, like
digital coupons available for
on-site use or at a future date.
Customers can also manage
their weekly grocery list on
the app, adding frequently
purchased items with the tap
of a finger.
