PRODUCT LINE ➊ ➋ ➌ JENI'S SPLENDID ICE CREAMS Product Line ➍ OWNER AND CREATIVE DIRECTOR JENI BRITTON BAUER opened Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams in 2002 in the historic North Market of Columbus, Ohio, "because no one was making the kind of ice creams I wanted to eat," she says. Today, in addition to her small company's thriving business, which ships product to individuals, retailers and foodservice in all 50 states, Bauer and her small staff operate 10 scoop shops in Ohio and Tennessee, Bauer is also the author of Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams at Home, which won a James Beard Award in 2012. The Jeni's crew makes every batch of the company's more than 15 handcrafted ice cream flavors, six frozen yogurts, three ice cream sandwich flavors and three dessert sauces. The desserts are made using cream from local, grass-fed cows and carefully sourced whole fruits, vegetables and other ingredients from around the world. Among the varieties are goat cheese with red cherries ice cream; mango lassi frozen yogurt (a blend of mango, biodynamic yogurt from Seven Stars Farm in Pennsylvania and cream from Snowville Creamery); and an orchid vanilla ice cream sandwich, which uses cookies made from almond flour and tinted with beet powder.
