He says Dang Foods' toasted coconut chips are a distinctive snack. "What makes it stand out is the eating experience," he explains. "The smell, the initial crunch and mouthfeel, the burst of toasted coconut flavor, and the buttery finish." The meat of the coconut, or copra, is gently toasted until golden brown with a dash of sugar and salt. Kitirattragarn says many of his customers who say they don't like coconut were pleasantly surprised by the chips. "Some like the crunchy texture, others like the flavor, others like the smell and versatility as an ingredient," he says. The coconut chips are naturally vegan and gluten- free, as well as non-GMO, and can be enjoyed on their own as a snack or mixed into ice cream, salad, trail mix, or baked goods for added texture and flavor.
